Maiden of the Sea Ring
This "Maiden of the Sea" statement ring is inspired by the carved decorations on the bow of ships in the 16th-19th centuries Figureheads were used in various cultures to bless and protect the ship during its travels. My mermaid ring features a wood grain band to mimic the wood of the ship. She is "mounted" on a shield shaped front that has shells and barnacles. A 2.5 mm blue sapphire is set next to her tail, a treasure she has picked up through her travels. If you have longer fingers, this will fit nicely on your hand. If your fingers are shorter, (like mine) it fits comfortably over the knuckle, so you can easily bend your fingers while wearing.
This is made from .999 pure silver and I have carefully hand applied the patina to bring out different tones of color in the silver. I used a jeweler's wax to seal the patina. It will come with an anti tarnish bag. All shells and barnacles, in addition to the texture on the mermaid's tail, come from real shells and coral found on my local beach.
Measurements: Ring Size: 8.25 (I would be able to size up to 8.5)
Width of band: .9 mm
Length of mermaid: 4 mm (1.5")
